Denji lives a rock-bottom life, burdened by his deceased father's massive debt. His only companion is his pet Chainsaw Devil, Pochita. To survive, Denji hunts devils for the yakuza. Betrayed and killed, Denji makes a contract with Pochita, merging with him to be resurrected as Chainsaw Man. With newfound power manifested as chainsaws erupting from his body, he catches the attention of Makima, a high-ranking official in the Public Safety Devil Hunters. Recruited into the organization, Denji fights dangerous devils alongside eccentric colleagues like Aki Hayakawa and the fiend Power, all while chasing his simple dreams of a better life, food, and maybe even a girlfriend.
